Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series

Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series is a foundational practice that forms the basis for all other Ashtanga Vinyasa sequences. It consists of a series of dynamic and challenging postures, synchronized with breath, designed to purify the body and calm the mind..

The sequence begins with sun salutations, followed by standing poses, seated poses, backbends, and finishing postures. Each posture flows seamlessly into the next through vinyasas (breath-linked movements), creating a continuous flow of movement.

This series focuses on building strength, flexibility, balance, and concentration. It helps practitioners develop physical stamina while cultivating mental resilience and discipline. Regular practice of Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series can lead to increased vitality, improved focus, and an overall sense of well-being.

Ashtanga Yoga Intermediate Series

In this series, you will learn more advanced asanas that challenge both strength and flexibility. The focus shifts to backbends, arm balances, and inversions, which require greater concentration and balance. Each posture is carefully sequenced to build upon one another, allowing for a gradual progression towards mastery.

As you advance through the Intermediate Series, you will notice an increased emphasis on internal purification through heat generated by intense physical exertion. This heat helps detoxify the body while also strengthening muscles and improving overall stamina. With regular practice, the Intermediate Series can help cultivate mental clarity and emotional stability.

It's essential to listen carefully to your body and practice self-awareness when participating in online yoga classes. Pay attention to any discomfort or pain that may arise during certain poses and make modifications as necessary. Additionally, take breaks when needed and don't push yourself beyond your limits just because others in the video are doing so.
